The Cafelat corner tamping mat is our unique and innovative solution for those baristas who like to tamp with the portafilter on the edge ofthe table. This is an idea Paul had a few years ago, but it took our designer Karina to really transform what could have been an ordinary looking product into something that is cute and incredibly functional.

The compact size is great for even the smallest barista workstationsand the part that overhangs is small enough not to obscure doors ordrawers that may be underneath. When using the mat it is important tomodify your technique to avoid any chance of injury, should theportafilter slip for any reason. When holding the portafilter upagainst the corner tamping mat, push the portafilter in towards thecounter away from you. With the tamper in the other hand tamp downwardsas you normally would do. This technique ensures the portafilterremains fixed.

So simple but ingenious! Every home and bar should have one!
