The Clever Coffee Dripper has advanced the concept even further creating an easy way to brew without bitterness, acidity or loose grounds. The difference is it's new shut-off valve system. Instead of pushing the grounds to the bottom of the brew carafe, the grounds settle naturally.
"Advanced" in 3 ways -- 1. No need to worry about brewing temperature dropping quickly as it drips into the cup. 2. Water can be poured over the grounds all at one time. No need to pour the slowly to pre-moisten the coffee. 3. The Clever Coffee Dripper features a shut-off valve design which holds the coffee until the entire brewing process is complete and the brewer is placed on the cup opening the valve.
Instructions:
- Set the paper filter into the brewer.
- Add coffee and "boiling" water, stir and let brew for "3 minutes".
- Place the Clever Coffee Dripper on top of a mug and watch as it fills with perfectly brewed, perfectly clear coffee in seconds.
- Lift the brewer off the mug and the Patented Shut-Off System stops the flow.

5 stars no paper taste Written by B. Erdem
@Stefan Thor Sigfinnsson If there is a paper taste, it is due the paper filter you use, not the Clever Coffee Dripper. I suggest Filtropa Size 4 filter. Bülent Erdem

3 stars Too much paper taste Written by Stefan Thor Sigfinnsson

I've tried many filters with it and Melitta white filter #4 comes out best. But even if I rinse it two full cones and let it only steep for 3 minutes I still get too much paper taste for my taste butts. 4 min steeping time is no no for me and almost not drinkable. It's though nice for some Indonesian coffees when you want to round off some of the earthiness that I'm not too much fan off. Good acidity is also something I really like so that's the reason I don't like this brewer or the Aeropress with paper filter too much. I still have left to try the Aeropress with the Coava steel disk and I think it might be something I would like.

5 stars Very clever and yet so simple Written by Rob Davis
I'm much preferring the CCD to an Aeropress with the Coava disk. Unlike the previous reviewer I have had no issue with standard mugs when brewing with 360g of water. I get a perfect 9-10oz brew each time in my mugs. If it's too much for your mugs just decrease your ratio of coffee to water a little or just pull the CCD away from your mug and decant what little is left into another vessel. I use 22g of coffee and 360g of water and steep for 4 minutes, though I'm still playing around with things. It's a great addition to your brewing armoury and has greatly simplified the entire brewing process. It's actually a pleasure to use. Not something I can say about the AP. I love it.

4 stars Clever product - with minimal drawbacks! Written by fizzog
I'm enjoying using this drip coffee device. The valve allows the coffee properly to extract for a full 4 minutes. The results (I'm using 20 g of filter ground coffee and 360 g/ml of water) are excellent. The separate lid and saucer are nice touches. I suppose I just prefer the Aeropress with Coava filter disk, for allowing more coffee oils through. And my experience so far is that the Clever dripper, at 360 ml of water) provides just too much coffee for one standard UK mug. That said, an excellent addition to the coffee armoury, and fairly portable for trips away too!

Hi guys, Can you please let me know what material CCD is made of and what its weight is. Many thanks, Edward

Hi,

Its made of plastic and weights 232g.

many thanks

What other filter papers can you use with this other than the Filtropa, e.g. the Hario papers and what size would you use for the Hario filters?
You need flat bottom filters, Hario are pointy ended.
This item comes with a lid?

Hi,

It does.
