This is a well thought out component, which speads out to the correct dimensions under the force of the retaining screw (also purchased). This means that it is easily removed when the screw is released. The shower screen I used as the first replacement for the original Gaggia component, which had corroded badly, was very tight and had to be removed by brute force (an Allen key hooked into the screw hole). My first impression is also that it is slightly more compatible with the single shot filter basket than my first replacement,. in that it is slightly less deep when compressed by the screw. The original Gaggia sreen has an advantage in this respect. though made of baser metal. Perhaps Coffee Hit could also offer a suitable screw, talked about on discussion groups which forces off the shower screen holder (with the same thread as the shower screen screw, but longer). On this service the holder was very difficult to remove and has to be prised of with a screwdriver leaving some unsightly score marks on its outer rim. Anyway, thanks for the nice components.
