Description

Cafetto MFC Green is an organic liquid cleaner formulated to remove milk fat, proteins, and residue from the milk lines, frothers, and internal components of automatic espresso machines. Independent laboratory testing confirms it kills 99.999% of E-coli, Salmonella, Listeria, and Enterococcus when used according to instructions — making it a clinically effective hygiene solution as well as a functional cleaner.

Registered by Australian Certified Organic (ACO) as an allowed input in organic systems and NSF certified for commercial food service use, MFC Green is also acidic in formulation, which means it simultaneously descales milk frother components as it cleans — particularly useful in hard water areas where scale builds up inside automatic milk frothing systems over time.

Built-In Dosing Reservoir

The 1L bottle features a built-in measuring reservoir in the cap — squeeze the bottle gently until 50ml collects in the reservoir, remove the cap and pour. No separate measuring tools needed, and the tightly sealing white cap prevents spillage when not in use. At 50ml per litre of water, the 1L bottle provides approximately 20 cleaning cycles.

Recommended for Frequent Use

MFC Green is the mildest of Cafetto's milk frother cleaner range, formulated specifically for daily or frequent cleaning cycles. Its organic-certified, biodegradable ingredients make it safe for regular use without degrading machine components, and it leaves no trace of odour after rinsing — so there is no flavour carry-over into the next drink.

How to Use Cafetto MFC Green

Flush milk out of the system first with 250ml of fresh water. Slightly loosen the green cap, gently squeeze the bottle until the reservoir measures 50ml, then remove the green cap and pour. Add 50ml of MFC Green to 1 litre of warm water in a cleaning container. Insert the milk frother suction tube into the solution and run the entire solution through the frother. Repeat with 1 litre of clean water to rinse all components thoroughly. Do not mix with other chemicals.

For steam wand cleaning: add 50ml to 500ml of warm water in a stainless steel jug, soak the steam wand tip for 5 minutes, then rinse with water and purge to ensure all solution is removed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Cafetto MFC Green used for?

MFC Green is an organic liquid cleaner designed to remove milk fat, proteins, and residue from the milk systems of automatic espresso machines — including milk lines, frothers, suction tubes, and internal components. It also provides descaling action, which helps keep milk frother components clear of mineral build-up. It is suitable for daily cleaning due to its mild, organic-certified formulation.

Does it kill bacteria?

Yes. Independent laboratory testing confirms Cafetto MFC Green kills 99.999% of E-coli, Salmonella, Listeria, and Enterococcus when used in accordance with the instructions. This makes it a genuine hygiene solution for commercial and home milk systems, not just a residue cleaner.

What is the dilution ratio?

50ml of MFC Green is added to 1 litre of warm water for milk line and frother cleaning, or to 500ml of warm water for steam wand soaking. The bottle includes a built-in measuring reservoir in the cap to dose accurately without needing separate measuring equipment.

Is it safe for machine components?

Yes. MFC Green is NSF certified — it has been independently tested and confirmed to leave no harmful residues and cause no corrosion within coffee machine components. It is non-corrosive and safe for all standard espresso machine parts.

Is it certified for use with organic coffee?

Yes. MFC Green is registered by Australian Certified Organic (ACO) as an allowed input in organic systems — meaning it is safe to use in setups where organic coffee and milk are being prepared, without compromising organic certification requirements.

How does this differ from other Cafetto milk cleaners?

Cafetto produces several MFC variants (Green, Blue, Red) with different strengths and formulations. MFC Green is the mildest and is certified for organic use — it is specifically recommended for daily or frequent cleaning cycles. The stronger variants are intended for less frequent deep-cleaning cycles. For most home and café setups using standard or oat milk, MFC Green used daily is the recommended approach.
