Brewista

Brewista builds precision brewing tools for people who take manual coffee seriously. The brand grew out of collaboration between coffee professionals, engineers and designers with a shared focus on the variables that matter most in pour-over brewing — water temperature, pour control, accurate measurement, and consistent technique. The result is a tight, well-specified range: a variable-temperature gooseneck kettle engineered for precise flow control, two generations of espresso and pour-over scales, a glass pour-over dripper, a glass server, a competition-pedigree milk pitcher, a capable hand grinder, and cupping accessories. Every Brewista product is designed to earn its place on the counter by making a measurable difference to how accurately and consistently you brew. We've been helping UK coffee lovers brew better since 2008.

The Brewista Range

Brewista Artisan Variable Temperature Gooseneck Kettle

A precision variable-temperature electric gooseneck kettle designed for pour-over brewing. Temperature is adjustable in 1°C increments across the full range, with a hold mode that maintains the set temperature for extended brewing sessions — useful for multi-cup pours or back-to-back brewing without reheating. The gooseneck spout is engineered for controlled, consistent water flow with minimal turbulence, giving the brewer precise control over pour rate and direction during bloom and extraction phases. Available in multiple colours and a 600ml capacity suited to single-cup through to two-cup pour-over volumes. One of the strongest value gooseneck kettles available at its price point — comparable in performance to the Fellow Stagg EKG but at a more accessible entry price.

Brewista Artisan Kettle Flow Restrictor

A small insert that fits inside the Artisan kettle's spout to reduce and further control water flow rate during pouring. One of the most inexpensive upgrades in the collection — and for brewers who find the standard Artisan spout pours slightly faster than they'd like for very slow, precise techniques (particularly single-cup V60 or other demanding pour-over methods), the restrictor makes a tangible difference. Worth ordering alongside the kettle.

Brewista Smart Scale II

A compact, responsive espresso and brewing scale with a 2kg capacity and 0.1g resolution. Clean interface, fast response time, and a low-profile design that fits under most portafilters and filter drippers without obstructing the brew. A built-in timer supports timed pour-over brewing — start the timer at the first pour and track total brew time alongside weight simultaneously. One of the most consistently well-reviewed scales at this price point in the specialty coffee community, valued for its combination of accuracy, speed and straightforward operation. Currently the most-reviewed product in the Brewista collection.

Brewista Smart Scale III

An updated Smart Scale with improved display, faster response time and additional brewing modes compared to the Smart Scale II. The Smart Scale III is designed for both espresso and pour-over workflows — multiple timer and weighing modes allow it to adapt to different brewing methods and personal workflow preferences. The right step up from the Smart Scale II for brewers who want more sophisticated timer functionality or a larger, easier-to-read display.

Brewista Tornado Glass Coffee Dripper

A cone-shaped glass pour-over dripper with a distinctive spiral ribbing inside the cone wall — the Tornado design. The spiral ribs create a controlled pathway for water flowing through the coffee bed, producing a specific flow rate and extraction dynamic suited to medium-coarse filter grinds and a 3–4 minute total brew time. The full glass construction means no flavour transfer and easy visual monitoring of the brew as it progresses. A considered alternative to the more ubiquitous V60 for brewers who want to explore different dripper geometries and extraction characteristics.

Brewista X Glass Coffee Server

A clean-lined borosilicate glass server for collecting pour-over and filter brews. Compatible with most standard dripper sizes. Available in multiple capacities to suit single-cup through to carafe brewing. The clear glass allows visual monitoring of brew volume and colour, and the design is minimal enough to sit comfortably on any coffee counter without feeling utilitarian.

Brewista X CAFEC Cone-Shaped Paper Coffee Filters

Paper filters in a cone profile, produced in collaboration with CAFEC — a specialist Japanese filter manufacturer with deep expertise in filter paper construction. CAFEC filters are known among pour-over enthusiasts for their crêpe-textured surface, which creates micro-channels for more even water distribution through the filter wall and produces a notably clean, bright cup. Compatible with most cone-shaped drippers including the Brewista Tornado, Hario V60 and similar. Available in multiple sizes.

Brewista X Series Hand Grinder

A precision hand grinder from Brewista's X Series range, featuring stainless steel burrs and a stepless adjustment mechanism covering a wide range from fine espresso through to coarse French press. Hand grinders at this price point offer genuinely competitive grind quality relative to electric grinders in the same bracket — the manual operation trades speed for a significantly lower noise footprint and better portability. The X Series is a capable tool for both home filter brewing and travel use, and suits any brewer who wants precision grinding without the noise of an electric machine.

Brewista "Nasty Jug" Milk Pitcher by Irvine Quek

A collaboration pitcher designed by Irvine Quek — a multiple World Latte Art Championship finalist — specifically optimised for latte art competition technique. The Nasty Jug's distinctive spout geometry is designed to produce a very fine, controlled milk stream for detailed pattern work, with a body profile that gives excellent tactile feedback during steaming. A specialist tool aimed at experienced baristas working on advanced latte art rather than an everyday workhorse pitcher — but a genuinely well-engineered product for its intended purpose. Currently sold out.

Brewista Pro Cupping Spoon

A professional-grade cupping spoon for sensory evaluation of coffee. Deep bowl, comfortable handle, and a bowl size calibrated to the standard cupping protocol volume. Used by coffee professionals, roasters and enthusiasts for evaluating coffee lots, comparing origins, and developing palate. Available in multiple finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Brewista Artisan kettle compare to the Fellow Stagg EKG?

Both are variable-temperature electric gooseneck kettles with precision temperature control and hold modes, and both are well-regarded in specialty coffee. The Artisan is typically available at a lower price point than the Stagg EKG, making it a strong choice for pour-over brewers who want gooseneck precision without the Fellow premium. The Stagg EKG has a broader colourway range, a more widely recognised design profile, and the EKG Pro adds Bluetooth and app control that the Artisan doesn't match. For pure brewing performance — temperature accuracy, spout control, hold mode — both are excellent and the difference is marginal. The Artisan Flow Restrictor also gives an extra degree of spout control that some brewers find gives it an edge for very precise, slow pours. The right choice depends largely on budget and whether the Fellow aesthetic is important to you.

What is the difference between the Brewista Smart Scale II and Smart Scale III?

The Smart Scale II is the more compact, simpler model — a fast, accurate 2kg scale with a built-in timer, well suited to espresso dosing and pour-over brewing without a complex interface. The Smart Scale III adds additional brewing modes, a larger and brighter display, faster sensor response and a more refined feature set for brewers who want programmable timer modes for specific brewing methods. The Smart Scale II is the better value entry point for most home brewers; the Smart Scale III is the right upgrade for those who want more workflow flexibility or who brew multiple methods regularly. Both resolve to 0.1g.

Are the Brewista CAFEC filters compatible with other cone drippers?

Yes — CAFEC cone filters are compatible with most cone-shaped pour-over drippers, including the Hario V60 (matching size), the Brewista Tornado, and other cone-profile brewers. The CAFEC crêpe texture is the key differentiator: it creates micro-channels between the filter paper and the dripper wall that allow air to escape freely during brewing, preventing the filter from sealing against the dripper and ensuring even, unrestricted flow. The result is a more consistent extraction and a particularly clean, bright cup character. Available in size 1 (suitable for 1–2 cups) and size 2 (suitable for 1–4 cups).

Is the Brewista X Series hand grinder good enough for espresso?

Yes — the X Series covers the espresso range with its stepless adjustment and delivers grind quality competitive with electric grinders at a similar price point. Hand grinding for espresso requires more physical effort than filter grinding (the resistance is higher at fine settings and doses are smaller, around 18–20g), but the grind quality and consistency the X Series produces are well suited to home espresso. The main practical consideration is speed: at espresso fineness, expect around 60–90 seconds of grinding per dose. For a patient home barista who prioritises quality and quiet operation over speed, the X Series is a strong choice. For high-volume or time-pressured use, an electric grinder is more practical.
