Keep Your Beans Fresher for Longer
The Coffee Hit Coffee Bean Canister is built to protect your beans from the two biggest enemies of freshness: oxygen and light. Constructed from food-grade 304 stainless steel with an outer satin-brushed finish and a mirror-polished interior, the canister seals completely airtight via a locking clamp lid and silicone gasket. A one-way valve in the lid allows CO2 released by freshly roasted beans to escape without letting air back in — the same technology used in professional coffee packaging.
One-Way Valve & Date Tracker
The black polymer lid incorporates a one-way degassing valve that vents CO2 naturally produced by fresh beans while keeping oxygen out. A date-tracker dial sits centrally on the lid so you can record the day you opened your bag and monitor how long your beans have been stored — a simple but genuinely useful feature for anyone serious about coffee freshness.
Two Sizes
Available in two sizes to suit different household needs. The 1.2L canister holds approximately 350g of whole beans — ideal for a single household or those who buy in smaller quantities and rotate regularly. The 2.8L canister holds approximately 1.1kg — perfect for larger households, offices, or anyone who buys in bulk and wants to keep a full bag fresh in a single container.
- 350g / 1.2L: D12.8cm x H12cm — compact, fits neatly on a counter or in a cupboard
- 1.1kg / 2.8L: D12.8cm x H21cm — taller format, same footprint, greater capacity
Premium Finish Inside and Out
The exterior features a satin-brushed sanding polish for a contemporary matte-satin look that resists fingerprints and integrates well with any kitchen aesthetic. The interior uses a mirror polish for a smooth, easy-clean surface that won't harbour stale coffee oils or odours between fills. The stainless steel clamp mechanism locks the lid firmly shut and flips open cleanly with one hand.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long will beans stay fresh in this canister?
With the lid properly sealed, freshly roasted beans will typically stay at peak flavour for 2 to 4 weeks. The one-way valve and airtight seal significantly slow down oxidation compared to leaving beans in an open bag or standard container. For best results, buy freshly roasted beans and store them in the canister immediately after opening the bag.
Can I store ground coffee in this canister?
Yes. The airtight seal and one-way valve work for ground coffee too, though ground coffee degasses and oxidises more quickly than whole beans. For the best flavour, we recommend grinding to order from whole beans stored in the canister rather than pre-grinding.
What is the date tracker dial for?
The dial on the lid can be rotated to mark the date you opened your beans or transferred them into the canister. This is a simple way to track freshness and ensure you're always brewing within the optimal window — typically within 2 to 4 weeks of roast or opening.
Is the stainless steel food safe?
Yes. The canister is made from food-grade 304 stainless steel, which is non-reactive, odour-neutral, and widely used in food storage and professional kitchens. It will not taint the flavour of your beans or corrode over time.
How do I clean the canister?
Wipe the interior with a dry or slightly damp cloth and allow to air dry fully before refilling. Avoid submerging the lid in water due to the valve mechanism. The stainless steel body can be wiped down with a damp cloth on the exterior to maintain the finish.
Which size should I choose?
If you typically buy 250g bags of coffee, the 1.2L / 350g canister is the right choice — it will hold a full bag with room to spare. If you buy 1kg bags or brew for multiple people, the 2.8L / 1.1kg canister will hold a full kilogram bag comfortably. Both share the same diameter (12.8cm), so the larger canister simply sits taller on your counter.
